What's new

Bugfix
- After feeding and playing the bars jumped to their new value instead of sliding to it — after cleaning they still slid. They slide everywhere again.

Bugfix
- In the evening and in bad weather, everything outside the painted scene was noticeably darker than the scene itself on phones — with a visible edge between them. The evening veil only covered the area beside the artwork, not the artwork. The same light now lies over all of it, and text on the meadow brightens as soon as the sun is down instead of waiting for the creature to fall asleep.
Improvement
- On phones the creature shrank as soon as anything beside it needed room: an open game menu, a notice, the hint about a new version — together they left a strip of meadow and a thumbnail of a pet. Everything now lies on top of the stage instead of inside it. The creature keeps its size, the menu covers the care card instead of hanging beneath it (back out via the cross or a tap beside it), and notices have their own band at the top instead of taking space from other lines. Tucking in is now a moon on the meadow, opposite the camera, and asks about the duration in the middle of the screen — which lets the card keep its three buttons in one row. On a computer everything stays as it was.

Patch 2
Improvement
- In the diary every line sat flush underneath the last — you had to read the faces to see who did what. Your own line now sits on the right and the other hand's on the left with their name on it; what nobody did, growing up for instance, sits in the middle as a note. You can see how the two of you took turns at a glance. The dates and the wording stay as they were.
Patch 1
Improvement
- On a phone the page used to be the desktop made narrow: the stage a box in the middle, buttons below it, the log below that — you scrolled. The place now fills the screen: sky above, meadow down to the bottom edge, the animal standing in it, and the bars and buttons resting on top as a card. No more scrolling, not even with the food or play menu open — the stage makes room instead. The dream sits over the sleeping head again, and the log is a round button with the latest line beside it that opens the diary. On a computer everything stays as it was.
2026-08-10
Bugfix
- Tucking in at noon and again in the evening gave you the same dream twice: it was tied to the calendar day, not to the sleep. Since you pick the duration yourself, twice a day is the normal case. Now every sleep dreams its own — and looking again in the middle of the night still shows the one from before.
Improvement
- Until now the year was the same meadow in four colours. Every season now has its own place: the orchard with blossoming trees and a fence in spring, the forest edge along a dirt track in autumn, the pine wood by the frozen pond in winter — summer stays the meadow. The three hiding spots look different everywhere too, but they stay where they were: left, middle and right are still left, middle and right.
- That dirt drags the mood down was only a line under the stage — anyone not looking in during that window later found a glum animal with no reason. The figure now scratches itself now and then while it is filthy. A cleaning ends it at once, and anyone who has turned off motion still sees the dirt and the line.

Patch 2
Bugfix
- The shared image was missing the rim and the tint: the figure came out without an edge, and two foxes looked alike again in it. Both lived in the stylesheet and did not survive assembling the snapshot. The image now shows the same animal as the stage.
Patch 1
Bugfix
- The rim around the figures used to hang on the pet, so it only showed where there was one: the stage, the list, the species book. The species gallery, the landing page and the sign-in dialog went without — a pale panda on a white card was hard to tell from its background. Every figure now carries it.

Patch 10
Improvement
- The animals now stand out from their stage: a fine pale rim right at the body, a darker one just outside it. The panda used to all but vanish into a bright sky and the wolf into the night — now one of the two rims carries on any background.
Patch 9
Bugfix
- In the diary, the header figure, the postcard and the growing-up line shared one gradient because they shared an internal id — and paging through the calendar broke the view. Each figure now has its own.
Patch 8
Feature
- The dragon now sometimes dreams of flying, not only of fire — and the hedgehog gets its own dream of a cozy pile of leaves.
Patch 7
Feature
- A glowing animal can now shine a touch brighter: if you were both there on at least three days of the past week, its glow visibly grows — the one level that only two people reach. Nothing else changes: caring for a pet on your own still makes it glow exactly as before.
Patch 6
Feature
- A pet's journal now shows a calendar month: both of you there, one of you there, no one there — the quiet days get a place too.
Patch 5
Feature
- Cleaning now matters beyond looks: once the animal is properly filthy it starts scratching — and its mood drops twice as fast as usual. A line above the stage says why. One clean turns it straight back, and being merely grubby still costs nothing.
Patch 4
Improvement
- A shared image now carries a small, muted signature in the corner — the name and "Tama". Small enough to never cover the creature.
Patch 3
Feature
- When the animal comes home sulking, you can tell for a few days who never called for it: from that person's hand it turns away at the first bite, then takes it after all — and only gets half as full. Nothing is blocked, feeding always works. The next bite is back to normal, and anyone who stays away finds an animal that has let it go after three days.
Patch 2
Feature
- The hedgehog curls up while sleeping — its spikes settle in gently for as long as it sleeps.
Patch 1
Improvement
- Below the species you've found, a single line now hints that there are others — without ever naming a number. An invitation, not a checklist.

Patch 8
Bugfix
- In the German version of “Which paw?”, the closing line always mentioned a paw — even for the penguin, which has flippers. The line no longer names a spot at all, the way it was never meant to: the menu is closed by then, there is nothing left to give away.
Patch 7
Feature
- When the other one isn't around, you can leave the animal a little something — one tap on their face, no text, no message. They find it next time they look in, see who it's from, and hand it over: it works like feeding and gets its own line in the journal. The gift never expires, it waits.
- When you are both there as you tuck the animal in, the journal says so now: “You tucked Pip in together.” Tucking in alone stays exactly as it was — and it is nothing but a line, no bonus, no counter.
- If you are still looking after your pet on your own, an empty second seat now sits beside your face: “There's room for someone here.” A tap on it fetches the invite link — right there with the animal, not over in the list. And if a link expired unused, a quiet line says so instead of leaving you to guess.
Patch 6
Bugfix
- The stats now drop only half as fast. Before, an animal was in the red after six and a half hours — if you looked in once in the evening, you almost always found it in distress. Now it takes thirteen hours: an evening of care carries through the night, and when things do go downhill, you can see it coming before it turns critical.
- Whether a baby grows up now really depends on how it was cared for: someone must have been there on at least four of the last seven days. Until now a single good session in a whole week was enough — in practice, time alone decided. Missing a week costs you nothing: the animal grows up as soon as you're back.
- Weather, season, birthday and the sniffles now follow your pet's own calendar day instead of universal time. In North America the weather used to change in the middle of the evening and the birthday showed up a day early; in Europe both lagged an hour or two behind. Dreams, diary and postcard already got this right — now everything agrees.
Patch 5
Feature
- Deer, wolves and cats now come with markings of their own: spots, a pale chest, tabby stripes. Which one an animal wears — and whether it wears any — is settled from the start and never changes. The other species will follow one by one.
- Cats, wolves and dragons now have eye colours of their own — green or amber, pale or deep. That, too, is settled from the start. The species with dark button eyes keep them.
Patch 4
Feature
- Two foxes are no longer the same fox: every grown-up animal now carries its own, very slight tint. It is settled from the start, you both see the same one, and it stays with the animal for its whole life. The egg and the baby give nothing away.
Bugfix
- Penguins, otters and frogs are no longer afraid of water. Until now, of all animals it was the three water-loving species that could grumble through a bath and lose a bit of mood over it — that ends now, including for animals that were already rolled that way.
Improvement
- The animals now talk about what they actually have. A penguin has flippers, the owl and the dragon have claws — and not one of the sixteen has a hand. So the game is called “Which paw?”, or “Which flipper?” for the penguin, and a clumsy animal trips over its own flippers instead of over “its own feet”.
Patch 3
Bugfix
- If someone started a round of the "In Sync" together-game and the partner never tapped a move, the menu just sat there open. An unanswered round now resolves itself after a short wait — with a reconciling line for both sides.
- People who only sign in via magic link and had email notifications turned on never saw the nudge button — even though the message would have reached them by email all along. The button now shows up for that channel too.
Patch 2
Feature
- Opening the app without a connection used to show a blank browser error. Tamago now shows its own calm page instead: your pet is waiting for you to come back online — it won't notice a thing.
Patch 1
Feature
- A well-cared-for baby visibly looks different on day 6 than on day 2 — it grows bigger and rounder, with no number and no bar. Its species stays hidden until it grows up.
